FG Declares Easter Holidays
In a move welcomed by millions across the country, the Federal Government has announced Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, 2025, as public holidays to commemorate Good Friday and Easter Monday.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government.

In a statement released through the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Minister extended warm wishes to Christians across Nigeria as they celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
“This season is a reminder of the selfless love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ for humanity,” Tunji-Ojo stated.
A Call for Peace and Reflection
Beyond the celebration, the Minister encouraged all Nigerians to take the time to reflect on the values of peace, love, sacrifice, and unity that the Easter season represents.
He urged citizens to use the holiday period to pray for the peace, unity, and stability of the nation.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo further reassured Nigerians of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to the “Renewed Hope Agenda,” emphasizing the government’s continued efforts toward national development and inclusive growth.






“The Renewed Hope Agenda is more than a slogan—it is a promise of a better Nigeria,” the statement read.
