Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, widely known as Baba Ijesha, has broken his silence months after leaving prison.
In a viral music video circulating online, the Yoruba film actor claimed that “human beings are more wicked than snakes,” as he shared his side of the controversy that led to his imprisonment.
The video surfaced about three months after the actor regained his freedom in November 2025, following time spent in a Lagos prison over a sexual assault conviction involving a minor.

Baba Ijesha Speaks After Prison Release
Baba Ijesha served time in a Lagos prison after he was convicted over allegations of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl, the foster daughter of comedian Damilola Adekoya, popularly known as Princess.

After completing his prison term, the actor has now spoken publicly through a music video where he shared his personal account of the events.
In the video, Baba Ijesha warned fans to be careful about the people they trust.
My trust was betrayed. I ended up in Kirikiri prison because of a woman,
he said.
He also claimed efforts were made to silence him during the controversy.

Actor Claims He Was Set Up
In the song, Baba Ijesha alleged that the events leading to his arrest were planned.
According to him, Princess whom he described as a close friend at the time invited him to her home under the pretense of preparing his favorite meal.
He said he was also told about a movie role and asked to rehearse for a different type of character.
The actor claimed that when he arrived at the residence, he met people he believed were part of a film production.
He later realized, according to his account, that there was no movie project and that the situation had been arranged.

he said in the video.
Baba Ijesha added that the experience changed how he views friendships.
Please my fans, be careful with friends. They cannot be trusted. The world is evil, and humans are more wicked than venomous snakes,
he warned.
The Case That Shocked Nollywood
Princess first accused Baba Ijesha in April 2021, alleging he sexually assaulted her foster daughter at her residence.
The case quickly gained nationwide attention and sparked calls for justice and protection for minors.
In July 2022, a Lagos High Court convicted the actor on charges including sexual assault by penetration and indecent treatment of a child.
He was sentenced to prison and later spent several years in custody before his release in November 2025, after completing his jail term.
Despite his recent claims, authorities have stated that the conviction still stands, and Baba Ijesha remains listed on the sex offenders register.
Before the scandal, the actor was known for roles in Yoruba films such as Afefe Ife and Opolo, where he built a reputation as a comedian and character actor.
