N100 Million Kidnap Ransom: Vine Crest College Staff Pleads for Life in Viral Video

Kidnapping ordeal has shocked many Nigerians as a staff member of Vine Crest College begs for his life in a viral video. The focus of the crisis is the ransom demand of N100 million and the fear that his captors will kill him if no help comes soon.

    • High ransom demand: Kidnappers are asking for N100 million to release the abducted Vine Crest College employee.
    • Emotional plea: The victim pleads for help on video, saying he has a pregnant wife, a young son, and an elderly father depending on him.
    • Rising insecurity: The incident highlights growing danger on major Nigerian highways, especially Kabba road, where many kidnappings occur.

A troubling video circulating online shows a man, identified as Magaji Adebanjo, begging for his life from kidnappers who seized him while traveling along the Kabba road in Kogi State.

Adebanjo, a staff member of Vine Crest College in Ogun State, said he was heading from Iperu to Abuja when armed men stopped his vehicle and took him into the forest.

In the video, he is tied up and looks frightened as a gun is pointed in his direction.

With his voice shaking, Adebanjo told the camera:

Please help me. I don’t want to die. I have a pregnant wife, a four-year-old son, and an aged father.

He explained that the kidnappers have demanded N100 million to set him free, a sum far beyond what he or his family can afford.

The video has spread quickly on social media, drawing concern from Nigerians about the worsening insecurity along busy highways like Kabba road, where such attacks have become more frequent.

Authorities have not yet released an official statement about the case, and the Ogun State Police Command, as well as Vine Crest College management, have not publicly addressed the situation.

Experts say incidents like this show deep challenges in protecting travellers on major routes and raise urgent questions about how to improve safety and prevent such attacks.
