Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has dismissed reports suggesting he plans to defect from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement released in Asaba on Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, the Governor called the rumors
“baseless fabrications”
and urged Deltans to ignore them.

“some elements in the opposition party in the State were threatened by the rising acceptance and bridge-building efforts of the Governor across political divides.” Ahon stated.
Governor Oborevwori emphasized that his dedication to the PDP remains steadfast, citing the overwhelming support he enjoys from Deltans.
He explained that his focus is on delivering the MORE Agenda, his administration’s development blueprint aimed at advancing the state’s progress.
“There is no reason to defect to any other party. My commitment is to the PDP and the people of Delta State,” he reiterated.
The Governor assured that his administration will continue working closely with the federal government to ensure both the state and the country benefit from collaborative efforts. He called on residents to dismiss the rumors as distractions designed to derail his focus.
This statement comes amid what appears to be a targeted campaign by opposition groups to question the Governor’s political allegiance.
Despite the noise, Governor Oborevwori remains resolute in his goals, which include fostering unity across political divides and delivering on his campaign promises.
