Over a decade after her appearance on Big Brother Africa: The Chase, Nollywood star and former housemate Beverly Osu has finally broken her silence on the sex scandal that trailed her time on the show.
In a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo on his #WithChude podcast, Beverly clarified that she never had sex with fellow housemate Angelo Collins while on the show, contrary to popular belief.

“I was madly in love with Angelo and got too comfortable around him, which led to the rumours,” she said.

Beverly, who was only 20 years old at the time, admitted that her openness and affection for Angelo were born out of deep feelings of love. But she expressed disappointment that viewers focused solely on her relationship and ignored her other contributions to the show.
“I brought out so many things from Big Brother, other than that [my relationship with Angelo],” she lamented. “I was so irritated because that was the only thing viewers picked.”
While reflecting on the scandal’s aftermath, Beverly revealed that the public scrutiny severely impacted her budding career. She went further to say that love has been at the root of most of her life’s struggles.
“Every problem that I have had in this life is because of the greatest gift of God; love,” she said. “I was dating na, make we tie gele? I was in love with him.”
Despite the harsh judgment and rumors, Beverly emphasized that she still has people who genuinely love and support her. And although the experience shaped her, she insists that her relationship was misinterpreted and blown out of proportion.
In previous comments, Beverly even hinted that Nigerians played a role in the end of her relationship with Angelo, blaming media reports for spreading misinformation about her love life.
