In the sermon, Ibiyeomie linked Adam and Eve’s expulsion from the Garden of Eden to their failure to tithe, implying that those who don’t pay tithes are destined for hardship.

VeryDarkMan strongly disagreed with this interpretation. Drawing on his own study of the Bible during a prison stint, he argued that the reason Adam and Eve were kicked out of the Garden was because they disobeyed God’s command not to eat the forbidden fruit.

He further explained that tithing came later, with Cain and Abel, as an offering of gratitude to God.
VeryDarkMan accused Ibiyeomie of “twisting everything upside down” to instill fear in his congregation and pressure them into paying tithes. He argued that such teachings manipulate people and prevent them from thinking critically about their faith.
