He wrote:
“One of the reasons why I don’t want to hear anything about ‘Yahoo’ or Internet fraud is the way it motivates them to destroy themselves and young girls by abusing drugs. See how far they can go just to abuse drugs. We need to wake up.”
Edafe’s statement ties the incident to a wider societal issue, the growing culture of drug abuse allegedly fueled by proceeds from cybercrime, locally known as “Yahoo Yahoo.”
The video has reignited conversations about the dangerous trends among Nigerian youths, particularly the use of party drugs disguised in seemingly innocent forms such as balloons.
Although the substance in the balloon has not been officially identified, many speculate it could involve inhalants like nitrous oxide, commonly referred to as “laughing gas,” known to cause short-term euphoria and, in some cases, hallucinations.

🧠 Call for Awareness
Concerned citizens and health advocates are urging authorities to investigate the incident and raise awareness about the risks of recreational drug use among young Nigerians.
As the video continues to trend, conversations around peer pressure, internet fraud culture, and youth safety remain in the spotlight.
