Fans and netizens alike have expressed dismay at the ongoing war of words, calling for the celebrities to reconcile and move past the quarrel.

    • Burna Boy and Cubana Chief Priest are embroiled in a heated social media feud, exchanging personal words.
    • The dispute began when Burna Boy allegedly mocked Chief Priest by calling him the “Owerri version” of rapper Rick Ross.
    • Fans and online commentators are divided, with some urging peace and others backing their favorite celebrity.

Just a few days into the new year, the growing tension between Burna Boy and Cubana Chief Priest boiled over into an online feud.

It all started when Burna Boy took to Instagram to mock Chief Priest, allegedly calling him the “Owerri version” of American rapper Rick Ross, known for his larger-than-life persona.

Adding fuel to the fire, Burna Boy labeled Chief Priest “Azaman,” a slang term for yahoo boys in Nigeria (fraudster,) and hinted “Omo Igbo.” has been arrested in Atlanta, America, that he might be next in his post, Burna wrote:

“No forget say you be Azaman o. And dem don gbe your plug wey him name na Omo Igbo for ATL, and na u be next. #OwerriRickyRozay.”

Chief Priest quickly responded with harsh remarks, accusing Burna Boy of being envious of his success. He even suggested that Burna’s Grammy win was linked to an alleged amorous relationship with American rapper Diddy. In his instagram posts, he wrote:

“It’s so clear because how is it even possible that someone who brags to be so rich go dey live in so much pain? Wetin dey pain you? Shebi na you be African princess.”

The socialite also revisited Burna Boy’s earlier career, claiming he paid Burna ₦1 million in 2018 to perform as a backup singer at his birthday party. He added:

“2018 na ₦1m I pay you to perform as backup artist for my birthday. I get pictures and videos where you dey perform for me. I go lie for you?”

As the quarrel escalated, Cubana Chief Priest accused Burna Boy of living beyond his means, citing alleged debts on luxury cars and jewelry. He even threatened to reveal more details about Burna’s personal and financial affairs.

None of the celebrities are ready to back down, Burna Boy posted a video of a man claiming to be Cubana Chief Priest’s brother who is a phone repairer in Alaba market, Lagos who appeared to need financial assistance.

Burna pledged $30,000 to help the man if his followers could locate him. This move added another layer to the already intense drama.

While some fans have taken sides, others have voiced their disappointment, urging the celebrities to end their public feud.

Many believe that such a display of hostility sets a poor example, especially as it unfolds at the start of a new year.

The feud between Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy and Nigerian socialite Cubana Chief Priest has taken a new turn.

In the heat of their online quarrel, Burna Boy has made a public offer to help a Kenyan woman, Helen, who claims Cubana Chief Priest fathered her two-year-old son.

    • Burna Boy promises to help Helen, a Kenyan woman, and her son a fresh start in Nigeria, including a home, education, and a job.
    • He also promises to support the child’s football dreams through his academy.
    • The move seems to be Burna Boy’s way of hitting back at Cubana Chief Priest amidst their ongoing feud.

The tension between Burna Boy and Cubana Chief Priest has been playing out online, with both sides trading words. In what seems like both a generous gesture and a calculated move, Burna Boy announced on Instagram his plans to help Helen and her child.

The offer includes relocating them to Nigeria, providing shelter, and setting Helen up with a job. He also pledged to enroll her son in school and nurture his football talent through his Burna Boy Football Academy.

In his Instagram post, Burna Boy stated:

“We will relocate you to Nigeria, give you shelter, put your son in school, and give you a job. Also, by the grace of GOD @burnaboyfootballacademy will build him into a football star. @luckyudu please find her contact for me.”

While this move could be seen as an act of kindness, many believe it’s also Burna Boy’s way of getting back at Cubana Chief Priest.

Meanwhile, Cubana Chief Priest has not publicly addressed the paternity allegations or Burna Boy’s offer. The ongoing feud has kept fans and followers on edge, with both sides finding ways to outdo each other.

Burna Boy’s actions showcase his willingness to help but also underline the intensity of his quarrel with Cubana Chief Priest.

Whether this is a case of genuine compassion or another way to escalate their rivalry, one thing is clear: the feud has added a dramatic twist to an already controversial situation.

NANS Urges FG to Monitor NELFUND Loans Disbursement to Schools

NANS Urges FG to Monitor NELFUND Loans Disbursement to Schools

NELFUND loans have become a hot topic among students and institutions in Nigeria. Here’s why NANS is calling for stricter monitoring of these loan funds.

    • NANS demands oversight on NELFUND loan usage in tertiary institutions.
    • Students oppose any hike in school fees across public schools.
    • NANS encourages eligible students to apply for transparent NELFUND support.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has urged the Federal Government to closely monitor how Nigeria’s Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) loans are being used in tertiary institutions.

Speaking at the 86th National Senate Sitting of NANS, held at Lagos State University (LASU), Senate President Babatunde Afeez Akinteye emphasized the importance of accountability.

“it is not enough to give schools billions of Naira in the name of NELFUND loans without the government following it up to know how schools are utilising the funds” Akinteye said.

He stressed that monitoring is critical to ensuring these loans effectively enhance education in the country.

Over 5,000 student leaders from various campuses attended the event. Akinteye addressed concerns about potential increases in school fees, firmly opposing any hikes.

“we don’t want further financial pressure on our members as NELFUND’s loans or any other consideration can’t be used as yardstick to justify any fee increment by any school. We won’t accept that and we have made this known to every VC, rector and provost of colleges of education and we’re following up closely on our stand.” he added.

stating that NANS is actively engaging with university vice-chancellors, rectors, and college provosts to maintain this stance.

NANS National President Lucky Emonefe echoed Akinteye’s concerns and commended students for their continued support.

He reassured them of the union’s commitment to safeguarding their interests.

Emonefe also encouraged financially struggling students to apply for NELFUND loans, describing the process as both transparent and straightforward.

“All you need is to be a genuine student in need,” he explained,

“All that is required to get a loan is to be a genuine student and financially incapable, we know all these because we have our representatives as board’s members.” he explained.

Noting that NANS representatives are actively involved in the loan board’s decision-making process.

Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) Disburses ₦23 Billion to Support Tertiary Institutions, Students

Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) Disburses ₦23 Billion to Support Tertiary Institutions, Students

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) is changing the game for students in need, disbursing ₦23 billion to empower education across the country. Here’s how this fund is making an impact.

    • ₦18 billion allocated to 128 tertiary institutions and ₦5 billion for student upkeep.
    • NELFUND’s funding ensures no student drops out due to financial struggles.
    • Graduates repay loans only after securing jobs, easing financial pressure.

Education in Nigeria has received a major boost, thanks to the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND). The fund, created by the federal government, has already disbursed ₦23 billion—₦18 billion to tertiary institutions and ₦5 billion for student upkeep.

“So far, we have had 326,000 individuals apply for the loan.”

said Akintunde Sawyerr, NELFUND’s Managing Director, during a recent press briefing in Lagos.

Students can register for these loans online, and the entire approval process is digital. The fund aims to prevent students from dropping out of school due to financial difficulties.

“NELFUND is saddled with the responsibility of providing loans to Nigerian citizens who are able to gain admission, or already have admission, into government-owned tertiary institutions,” Sawyerr explained.

The agency also offers vocational training loans and monthly stipends to students for personal upkeep.

“We can provide them with stipends, or pocket money, if you like,” Sawyerr added.

Funding for NELFUND comes from various sources, including 1% of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) collections and donations from organizations like the EFCC, which contributed ₦50 billion. Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has also allocated significant sums, with more contributions expected in the future.

When it comes to repayment, NELFUND has adopted a lenient approach. Graduates only start repayment two years after completing their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), and only if they secure jobs.

“If they don’t get jobs for the next 10 years, they don’t pay the NELFUND any money,” Sawyerr emphasized.

Employers are required by law to deduct 10% of salaries from employed graduates for loan repayment.

Instagram Introduces Trial Reels: Test Content with Non-Followers to Find What Performs Best

In a groundbreaking move aimed at empowering creators, Instagram has unveiled its latest feature called “Trial Reels”. This innovative addition is designed to let users experiment with new content ideas without the pressure of immediate feedback from their followers.

With Trial Reels, creators can test their creativity and see audience reactions before sharing with their followers.

    Let’s dive into the details.

    • Creators can now test new content ideas with Trial Reels before sharing them widely.
    • Trial Reels will first be shown to non-followers, offering fresh engagement opportunities.
    • Access key metrics like views, likes, and comments to decide whether to share reels with your followers.

    Freedom to Experiment Without Pressure

For many creators, the fear of posting content that might not resonate with their followers has been a persistent concern.

Instagram’s Trial Reels aims to address this by offering a safe space to test creative ideas.

Instead of immediately posting to your existing audience, Trial Reels are shared with non-followers, allowing creators to try out new genres, storytelling formats, or topics without fear of backlash.

Think of it as a rehearsal before the main performance. You can experiment with your wildest ideas and see how the crowd reacts, all while keeping your loyal followers in suspense.

    How Instagram Trial Reels Work

Creating a Trial Reel is as simple as making any other Instagram Reel. Before sharing, you toggle on the Trial option. Once posted, these reels appear in your drafts and are visible only to you. This ensures complete control over what’s showcased on your profile.

The beauty of this feature lies in its data-driven insights. Approximately 24 hours after posting, you can access key metrics like views, likes, comments, and shares.

Instagram also provides comparative insights to see how the Trial Reel fares against previous ones. This data helps creators decide if the reel is ready for their main audience or if it needs a little tweaking.

    What Creators Are Saying

Trial Reels have already been tested with a select group of creators, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

Many report increased confidence in experimenting with content outside their niche. Fresh ideas that might have once seemed risky are now engaging new audiences and reinvigorating existing ones.

For instance, a travel blogger trying their hand at lifestyle content can use Trial Reels to test. If the trial succeeds, they can share it broadly, knowing it has the potential to resonate.

    Key Features to Note:

    • Non-Follower First Exposure: Trial Reels prioritize engagement from non-followers, providing a unique avenue for creators to expand their reach.
    • Automatic Sharing Option: Instagram offers an option to automatically share Trial Reels with followers if they perform well within the first 72 hours. This setting can be adjusted anytime.
    • Complete Control: Trial Reels won’t appear on your profile grid unless you choose to share them with everyone.

How to Access the Instagram Trial Reels

Trial Reels are being rolled out globally. All eligible creators can access this feature through the usual posting flow. With just a few taps, you can unlock a new dimension of content creation.

Instagram’s Trial Reels are set to revolutionize the way creators experiment with their content. Whether you’re a celebrity, a seasoned influencer or just starting your journey with Instagram, this feature provides a risk-free way to explore new ideas and engage broader audiences.

What do you think about Trial Reels? Are you excited to give it a try? Share your thoughts in the comments below and let us know how you plan to use this exciting new feature!
